Paul Rusonis, M.D.
Dr. Rusonis has been practicing dermatology in Howard County since 1986 and established Dermatology & Advanced Skin Care in 2002. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. After completing an Internal Medicine internship at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, he trained in Dermatology at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution. Dr. Rusonis has been in private practice and a part-time instructor of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins Hospital since 1986. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and Maryland Dermatology Society.
Lisa Anderson, M.D.
Dr. Anderson received her medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA in 2001. She completed her Dermatology training at Tulane University School of Medicine and continued as a Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Tulane University Health Sciences Center. She is the recipient of multiple honors and awards and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Women's Dermatologic Society, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Dermatology Foundation. She joined Dermatology & Advanced Skin Care in 2005. Her area of expertise includes general dermatology and skin cancer. dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic procedures in dermatology. She joined Dermatology & Advanced Skin Care in 2009.
Anita Iyer, M.D.
Dr. Iyer received her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, OH where she graduated with honors. She completed an Internal Medicine internship at the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts and then trained in Dermatology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr. Iyer is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Maryland Dermatology Society. She joined Dermatology & Advanced Skin Care in 2005.
Jorge Toro, M.D.
Dr. Toro graduated from the Medical School of SUNY in Buffalo, N.Y. He completed his Internal Medicine internship at Stanford University School of Medicine and his Dermatology Residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Since 1997, he has worked at the National Institute of Health and National Cancer Institute as Clinical Associate and Senior Investigator. His areas of expertise include skin cancer, genetic skin disorders, rheumatoid disorders, and HIV. Dr. Toro has received numerous professional honors, published widely in professional journals, and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Human Genetics, the Society of Investigative Dermatology, and the American Association for Cancer Research. For our patients who are more comfortable communicating in Spanish, Dr. Toro is fluent in Spanish. He has been with Dermatology & Advanced Skin Care since in 2009.
Amy Spangler, P.A.
Amy Spangler earned her Masters Degree of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She is nationally certified as a Physician Assistant. She has practiced general and cosmetic dermatology since 2003. In addition, she spent a year practicing as a Family Practice Physician Assistant. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Amy Spangler joined Dermatology & Advanced Skin Care in 2007.
